We believe that Archbishop Holgate’s is ‘no ordinary school’ and is an excellent place to work. Our staff are friendly and supportive and our students are polite, hardworking and keen to succeed. As such, this post represents an exciting opportunity to join a very successful, high-achieving, forward looking and fully-subscribed Church of England comprehensive, a school judged Outstanding by both Ofsted and SIAMS with outstanding leadership and outstanding capacity to continue to improve. The school seeks through Christian values to foster care for the individual and maximum achievement for all. The school opened a new Sixth Form block in September 2009 and now has a rapidly expanding Post 16 provision offering a range of courses from A Levels and Applied Learning (ranked first in the National League tables 2013) to Work Related Learning. Since making the successful shift to Academy status in April 2011, we have continued to cement our local and national reputation as a centre that consistently seeks to achieve excellence, recognised by the DfE with our Headteacher’s invitation to become a National Leader of Education in April 2014. The growth and exemplary reputation of our Teaching School formed in April 2014 continues to build on our commitment to education of the highest possible standard, we provided CPD training for over 4000 delegates, including over two thirds of our staff last year, and are currently training 82 ITT students through our School Direct Programme. All of this, combined with the newly formed Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust, means that the future for the school is an extremely exciting one. Post 16 results show a four year trend of ALPS 2 and this year A Level results were in the top 1% nationally. Our summer GCSE results (building on the Best 8 Value Added for GCSE in 2015 of 1024) are the highest the school has achieved with 75% of students achieving an A* to C in both English and Maths, evidence of the schools continued strength. However, students arrive at KS3 with KS2 outcomes slightly below the National average and it is only with the truly outstanding efforts of the whole team that they consistently leave with above the National average, making excellent academic and personal progress. Archbishop Holgate’s is a Group 7 school and has the national average intake of Pupil Premium and EAL students.
