Leadership exists at all levels within the school with both staff and students modelling these qualities each day. What follows below is a brief explanation of the Senior Leadership structure.

Headteacher: Values - Mr Daly

Overall responsibility for strategic planning and management of the organisation.  Leadership of the development of the ethos and values of the school and responsibility for ensuring that the school remains Deeply Christian through its Distinctiveness and Effectiveness as a Church School.  Leadership of teaching and learning, communication and all aspects of school self-review.  Overall strategic leadership of both the Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust and Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance as well as coordination of all NLE support work and all other partnership work.  Part of the SLT Wellbeing Team.

Deputy Head: Care, Support and Administration - Mr Furniss

Overall strategic responsibility for all aspects of Pastoral Care including the day to day management of student conduct, oversight of the Inclusion Centre, line management of the Heads of Year, oversight of exclusions and admissions and representation at the Behaviour and Attendance Partnership.  Responsibility for whole school systems and structures including behaviour data, homework, attendance and punctuality as well as the coordination of pastoral interventions and quality assurance processes.  Overall strategic responsibility for whole school communication and the day to day organisation of the Academy.

Deputy Head: Teaching, Learning and Student Progress - Miss McDermott

Overall strategic responsibility for student progress across KS3 and KS4.  Alongside the Curriculum Deputy responsibility for the work of department areas (curriculum development and innovation, self-evaluation and staff development) and line management of all EBacc subjects and RE.  Leadership of all aspects of Teaching & Learning including quality, innovation and development as well as responsibility for meeting the needs of all learners, including oversight of SEND, AG&T provision and careers, guidance and education.  Part of the SLT Wellbeing Team.

Deputy Head: Curriculum, Assessment and Target Setting - Mr Green-Harding

Overall responsibility for curriculum design, development and timetable.  Oversight of student achievement including all aspects of assessment, reporting, target setting and quality assurance.  Alongside the Teaching & Learning Deputy overall responsibility for the work of department areas (curriculum development and innovation, self-evaluation and staff development) and line management of non EBacc subjects (predominantly GCSE and A-Level focused).

Assistant Head: Director of Sixth Form - Miss De Lashley

Overall strategic leadership of all aspects of Post 16 provision and responsibility for further enhancing the schools outstanding national reputation at this time of great change.  This includes recruitment, marketing, transition, UCAS, examinations and care.  As Head of Year 13, direct responsibility for student achievement at the end of programmes of study.  Responsibility for the line management of the Sixth Form Pastoral team as well as the Head of Vocational Learning and Sixth Form Enrichment Coordinator.

Assistant Head: School Community - Mrs Lambert

Overall strategic responsibility for developing a coherent, balanced and progressive programme of staff induction and CPD provision, including individual CPD Pathways within the MAT.  Responsibility for further developing relationships with primary schools and as part of this strategic oversight of the transition process.  Leadership of the ongoing development of all aspects student voice and volunteering, and contributing to the deepening of Christian distinctiveness across school.  Strategic leadership of all aspects of Staff Appraisal.  Part of the SLT Wellbeing Team.

Assistant Head: Pastoral Care - Mr Mike Williams

As Head of Year provide the strategic leadership for all aspects of the Year 11 Raising Achievement Plan to ensure all students maximise their achievement. Responsibility for raising standards of Disadvantaged Achievement across school, alongside the development of the Pupil Premium Strategic Development Plan. Provide support to the Deputy Head – Care, Support and Administration for the day to day management of Pastoral Care, whilst providing leadership on pastoral communication, the promotion of equality and diversity across the school and the development of a new rewards system across all key stages.

  Assistant Head: Curriculum Support and Enrichment - Mrs Kirsty McMurdo

As Head of English responsibility for ensuring that outcomes remain outstanding across all key stages. Work alongside the Deputy Head: Teaching, Learning and Student Progress to prepare students for the demands of the new curriculum. Specifically, whole school leadership of literacy and numeracy, the importance of reading and retention and the whole school approach to marking and feedback. Overall strategic responsibility for Curriculum Enrichment and strategic oversight of the Lead Practitioners work with MAT Primary schools around effective curriculum development and transition from KS2 to KS3.

Finance Director – Mr Duxbury

Responsibility for all aspects of Finances within the school and across the Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust and Teaching School.  This includes preparation and management of annual budgets, monthly monitoring, management of banking arrangements, liaison with auditors, preparation of the annual financial statements and ensuring best value for money.  Overall strategic organisation of bus routes and the line management of the Finance Team, School Manager and Human Resources Manager.

School Manager – Mr Stone

Responsibility for the day to day management of the school.  Oversight and maintenance of all buildings and facilities and an ongoing cycle of improvements to the fabric of the building.  In liaison with the Deputy Head: Care, Support and Administration responsibility for the organisation of both whole school events and the day to day running of the school. Line management of the Site Management team, oversight of lettings and responsibility for all aspects of Health and Safety.

Richard Nihill

Lay Chaplain – Mr Nihill

Working alongside the Headteacher to ensure that our Christian Values continue to be ’lived into being’. Leadership of all elements of Chaplaincy including the strategic oversight of Collective Worship, the production of appropriate resources for Thought for the Day and the monitoring of all acts of Collective Worship.  Overall strategic responsibility for all aspects of the SIAMS process, the organisation of whole school events in the Christian calendar and for the further development of external communication, including the local press and Diocese.

Designated Safeguarding Officer - Mrs Gaynor Stainsby

Responsibility for all aspects of Safeguarding and Child Protection in her role as the designated Child Protection Officer.  This includes liaison with external agencies and pastoral leaders to support vulnerable learners and ensure that all barriers to achievement are broken down.  Overall responsibility for all aspects of school attendance and working alongside the Deputy Head: Care, Support and Administration to maintain the outstanding behaviour and safety of all students.  Part of the SLT Wellbeing Team.

 

Operations and Events Support - Mr Gladstone

Working alongside the Deputy Head: Care, Support and Administration and the School Manager in the organisation and running of whole school events, collaborating and leading the relevant teams for each event.  To contribute to the running of the school on a day to day basis as required.
