On the day itself, the students held a cake sale to raise money for a female-orientated charity - almost £100 was raised for IDAS - a specialist charity that provides comprehensive support services to anyone experiencing or affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence. Their services include refuge accommodation, community based support, peer mentoring, group work and access to a free, confidential 24 hour helpline.
Whilst IDAS recognises that the majority of victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence are women, they also provide support to male victims, and their young persons’ Respect programme works with families where the young person is abusive.

Furthermore, students from Sixth Form created a Female Power Play List to echo out of the Hall during lunch, accompanied by some facts and stats about women worldwide. It seems that our students are more than happy to#BeBoldForChange.
